The board of directors of Cricket South Africa (CSA) has appointed its newly-elected chairperson, Lawson Naidoo, to represent the governing body on the board of the International Cricket Council (ICC).

"This is an important step forward as we seek to rebuild our credibility within the ICC and play a meaningful role in advancing equity among cricket nations, in the best interests of the global game, as espoused by the ICC's own responsibilities, vision and growth strategies," Naidoo said in a statement.

CSA added that its board also finalised the chairs of the various sub-committees at a meeting on Thursday evening, with further details to be announced in due course.
