The new Boss BS6 variants have 30% longer service interval compared to previous versions

has introduced the BS6 version of its Boss Intermediate Commercial Vehicle (ICV) in BS6 avatar. Available in two variants - LE and LX - the Boss has GVW ratings of 11.2 tonne and 14.05 tonne. Both models are available in multiple load bay lengths ranging from 14 ft to 24 ft to cater to different applications. The prices start at INR 18 lakh (Ex-showroom, Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai).

Boss BS6

The first gen Boss which derived its roots from the CV major's Czech subsidiary Avia established itself as one of the prominent brands in India's ICV segment. The fully built mid-premium truck range, in its latest iteration, comes with considerable improvements which all contribute to an improved total operating economy.

The improvements made to the powertrain has resulted in 7% better fluid (diesel exhaust fluid - Adblue, and fuel) efficiency, 5% lower maintenance cost, 5% higher tyre life and an impressive 30% longer service interval. The updated Boss truck range comes with digital solutions like i-Alert and remote diagnostics.

The Boss BS6 is available in high side deck, container, fixed side deck, drop side deck, cab chassis, and tipper variants. The vehicle range is suitable for applications such as FMCG, reefer, parcel & courier, poultry, white goods, agri-perishable, e-commerce, auto parts, and so on.

Speaking about the launch, 's managing director & CEO Vipin Sondhi stated that the commercial vehicle segment in the country has been going through a challenging year but the company is witnessing a spurt of demand for ICVs. With the timely launch of the Boss BS6 variants, is hoping to strengthen its portfolio and work towards achieving its goal of becoming one of the top 10 global CV brands.

's presence in ICV segment

In 2012, the Chennai-based CV maker has a meagre market share of 6% in the ICV segment but the Boss brand have been growing steadily. The company says that it currently enjoys a market share of over 20% in this segment which is pegged to grow at a brisk pace in the post pandemic era.
