Shanghai the site for new aircraft plant

Commercial Aircraft Corp. of China will build an assembly line for its C919 jetliners in Shanghai.
The company has long held ambitions to become a leader in world aviation.
Officials of Shanghai's Pudong district, where the plant will be located, have said the construction of the factory will be able to begin soon, with the narrow-body, single-aisle C919 due to roll out of the plant by 2012.
In China this year, air passenger traffic rose nearly 20 percent in the first 10 months of the year. Email this story to a friend
