Mulayam to discuss n-deal with PM, Sonia

Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav is to meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi here Friday to discuss the India-US nuclear deal and the modalities of supporting the Congress-led government if the Left withdraws its support.
According to Samajwadi Party sources, Mulayam Singh Yadav is then expected to get back to the United National Progressive Alliance (UNPA), a regional alliance of which his party is a key member. The UNPA will then take a stand on the question of propping the government.
Congress leaders, including Defence Minister A.K. Antony and Ahmed Patel, met Gandhi Friday morning to discuss the political situation and chalk out a strategy to save the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government if it loses the legislative backing of the four Left parties.
