One year jail for fake voters in Karnataka poll

Anyone impersonating a genuine voter in the Karnataka assembly election starting Saturday will be jailed for up to one year.
State Chief Electoral Officer M.N. Vidyashankar told reporters here that the imposters would be jailed or fined under section 171 D of the Indian Penal Code.
'We have directed officials manning polling booths to take action against those attempting to violate the election process,' Vidyashankar said.
